The Consumer Disclosure interest group aims to fill the gap in knowledge that consumers have about the sustainability of commercial products.
The group comprises several different projects, all united by the above goal.
During the Collabathon, progress was made on several ongoing projects and interesting new ideas were thought of. Ongoing projects include:
The e-commerce plug-in - Ecowidgy
Climate impact of mobility
CO2ken for carbon offsetting
New ideas :
C impact awareness through bank statements and possible customer loyalty models
The aim of this meeting is to discuss a first collection of all the potential ideas /projects to continue to work on during the course of 2020. After, we'll get an indication of who would like to contribute to each individual project.
In this meeting, we’ll hear from leaders of ongoing projects about the potential next steps. We'll also hear pitches for new projects/ideas.Your ideas welcome!
Main goal of the group
Main structure of the group
Project and Idea presentations - by project / idea leads
Proposed next steps for projects
Consider aspects of how the various projects might / would integrate
Example project template on Github : https://github.com/OpenClimateProject/Template
Post-meeting: Create teams based on interests in the presentations
Figure out a recurring frequency / day / time for us to meet as a consumer disclosure work group
Follow-up Google form to organize teams
Please input projects, ideas that you would like to work on initiate via the form here. Please include any next steps you might have thought of already to take your project further.
Your ideas are stored on this google work sheet. Feel free to have a look at some of the other ideas on the google worksheet (above) in case you would like to develop or add to these.
If you wish to contribute to the development of “consumer disclosure”, as an active member, then please feel welcome to add your name above.
Following this meeting, there will be an opportunity to join one of these projects. For the next few months, we’ll work together to design and finalize the plan and management of each project. The projects will be organized as modules for a larger consumer disclosure end product. By November, an aim could be to have a product specification and a project plan that can go to implementation.
Suggested next steps:
Think of team structure and meeting rhythm
Project leaders: What next step(s) do you see for progressing the project?
Attended : Bryce, Adam, Raphael, Wanying, Time, Karolina, Arnav, Anshu
Idea Karolina : We could integrate three projects e.g. E-mission (Shankari), Co2ken, Amazon plugin one product. It would be necessary to have a brainstorm with the individual project teams and see what would be the points of integration
Question Karolina: The Supply Chain Consumer Disclosure framework, would like to take input and learnings from the various projects to develop the framework?
Question : What are the various projects worked on in 2019 and which ones do we wish to take further in 2020
Main concern from last year: difficult to connect groups that are working on the same goal
Coordinators to link up with other working groups?
Create an agile environment - set project goals for each group at every month
This will structure how groups give updates and improve the way projects can identify collaboration opportunities
Next Proposed Action
Have a demo of each of the projects, in order to understand how far the projects have progressed and then figure out how we could build on them
All project leads
Request Github logins for contributions
Post any questions on the google work sheet.
Arrange for next meeting in ~ 2 weeks
